Week #3 – One-On-One Sharing

1. Match up newcomers with sharing partners; men with men, women with women.
Sharing partners are those who have been through Back to Basics, Back to Basics101, or are otherwise familiar with the Fourth Step Assets and Liabilities Checklist.

2. Make sure everyone has a blank Fourth Step Assets and Liabilities Checklist along
with the example. (The blank checklist has the “Fourth Step Questions” on the
back and the example has the “Explanation of Terms” on the back)

3. Have everyone fold their blank Checklist so the Assets are hidden from view.
4. Read the “Explanation of Terms” for the Liabilities.

5. Suggest that everyone fill out a Checklist. Then ask the Fourth Step questions.

6. Ask newcomers and their sharing partners to spread out so the Fourth Step Checklist can be discussed in private and in confidence.
7. Have each newcomer share his or her Fourth Step Checklist with a sharing
partner. (Some sharing partners may have more than one newcomer to work with.)
8. Once the sharing partner has listened to the newcomer’s inventory, they together come up with an Eighth Step amends list. For each situation, they decide what type of amends is appropriate and when, where and how to make it.

9. Five minutes before the end of the session, reconvene the group.
10. “Are there any questions or comments?”
